The bags

What are the bags made of?

Every Brandon Rupert bag is cut from full-grain Tuscan calfskin, vegetable-tanned and slow-dyed in single batches. The hardware is solid satin brass, hand-set. The lining is undyed Egyptian cotton twill, French-seamed. The stitching is waxed linen at eight stitches per inch.

Will the leather change with use?

Yes — that's the point. Drum-dyed leather lets the grain read through the colour and deepens its patina with daily carry. Vegetable-tanned hides soften without losing their line. After six months your bag will look like yours and no one else's.

How do I care for the leather?

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth between wears. Condition twice yearly with a neutral leather balm — nothing perfumed or coloured. Avoid prolonged rain, direct sunlight, and contact with raw denim (the indigo transfers). Store stuffed, in the cotton dust bag we send with every order.

Are the brass fittings real solid brass?

Yes — cast, finished with a satin sheen, and hand-set. Brass dulls with time; if you prefer it bright, polish lightly with a soft cloth. We don't lacquer the surface, so the metal lives with the leather.

Which bag should I choose?

The Rupert Tote is the largest and the signature piece — built for a working day, fits a 13" laptop. The Avenue Shoulder is the everyday softener — under-arm carry, drum-dyed for a more open finish. The Maison Top Handle sits in the middle — a structured top-handle that converts to a shoulder bag with the detachable strap. The Metro Crossbody is the slim, hands-free option for evenings or travel days.

Ordering & delivery

Where do you ship?

The United States only, for now. International is something we hope to offer in a later season.

How much does shipping cost?

A flat $3.99 USD on every order. No thresholds, no surprises at checkout. Every order ships tracked via USPS, UPS, or FedEx.

How long does it take?

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days, then 3–7 business days in transit — so 4–9 business days from order to door.

What payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay through Shopify Payments.

Can I track my order?

Yes — you'll receive a dispatch email with a tracking link the moment your order leaves us. You can also track at any time on our tracking page.

Returns & refunds

What's your returns policy?

45 days from the day your order arrives, on unused bags in their original dust bag and box. Full details on our Returns & Refunds page.

Do you do exchanges?

We don't run a separate exchange flow. The fastest way to swap colourways or styles is to return the original for refund and place a new order — that way you're not waiting on a pending swap to clear.

What if my bag arrives faulty?

Email support@brandonrupert.com within 14 days of delivery with a photograph and your order number. We'll arrange a prepaid return label and either replace the bag or refund your order in full — your choice. Note: natural variation in grain, depth of colour, and surface markings is part of the hide, not a fault.

Where are the bags made?

Cut and finished in small batches from full-grain Tuscan calfskin. Each colourway is run in limited quantities — once a hide is sold out, it may not return in that exact tone.

Will there be more pieces?

Probably. The next set, if there is one, will be considered the same way as this one. We'd rather take our time than fill a catalogue.
